Nearest Metro Station - Columbia Heights

The nearest metro station is Columbia Heights Station, it connects directly to both the Yellow and Green Lines.

It is a 0.372 mile walk from 1471 Girard St NW.

To get there, walk East down Girard ST NW toward 14th ST NW (against the flow of traffic).

Turn left onto 14th ST NW and walk North toward Irving St NW.

There is an entrance to this metro station on the Southwest and Northeast corners of the intersection between Irving St NW and 14 St NW.

The closest one to you should be the Southwest corner of that intersection (on your left).

Connection to Union Station

Union Station is a busy train connection hub that services Amtrak train lines connecting much of the east coast.

It has a beautiful main hall and is a short walk (13-20 minutes) from the Unites States Capitol and the National Mall, Washington Monument and the Smithsonian.

It is one of the most efficient means of commuting to and from Washington DC.

Getting to Union Station via public transportation

This trip is usually a 30 to 45 minute commute.

To get there take either the Green or Yellow lines from Columbia Heights Station to Gallery Pl - Chinatown Station.

Then transfer to the Red line and take it to Union Station.

To get from Union Station to 1471 Girard St NW follow the above directions in reverse.

The route that works most frequently is to take the 5A bus from the main terminal to D St SW & 7th St SW.
