Newark Airport

The nearest airport to Jersey City is Newark Liberty International Airport.

By Car

Going by car is only a 20 to 40 minute ride depending on the time of day.

This trip is pretty cheap using Uber or taxi, we recommend Uber

Via public transportation:

This airport is 40 minutes to an hour away via public transportation:

The best route to and/from there is to use the JSQ/Newark Path trains and the Northeast Corridor train.

John F Kennedy (JFK) Airport

By Car

Traveling by car takes between 1 and 2 hours depending on traffic.

If you do not have a car you can take Uber but we recommend taking public transportation as it will take a similar amount of time and cost substantially less.

Via Public transportation

Getting to or from JFK via public transportation takes a while but it is very doable.

It will take between 1 and 2 hours.

We recommend using Google Maps to plan your trip but this is the route that we like to use when we travel to JFK:

To Manhattan:

Path train:

NOTE: Total Travel Time about 20 - 25 minutes

(Travel time is about 10 minutes from the PATH station to downtown Manhattan + 5 - 10 minutes walk from the Apartment to Path Station.)

The closest path station to you is the "Grove St Path station"

This station is a 5-10 minute walk from your apartment and you can catch both the WTC and 33rd ST trains there.

Path train fares:

NYC Metrocards can be used on both the MTA and Path trains if a cash balance is being used.

Week/Month-passes from the MTA do NOT work for PATH.

If you would like a week/month pass for the path you'll need to purchase a Smartlink Card.

Smartlink cards do NOT work on the NYC MTA.

WTC Path Train: 

To get to the World Trade Center take the "WTC" train from the "Grove St. Path Station."

33rd St Path Train: 

Take the "33rd St Path train to get to the following convenient locations in Manhattan:

Christopher St and Hudson St,

9th St and 6th Ave, 

14th St and 6th Ave, 

23rd St and 6th Ave, 

33rd St and 6th Ave

*NOTE:  It’s worth it to get a week pass for the metro card and path card if guests take each at least twice a day. The passes can only be used by one person at a time though.

Within NJ

Within NJ and Jersey City you may utilize the Light Rail to get to popular destinations such as Liberty State Park

To Liberty State Park

By Light Rail:  

Go to Jersey Ave Light Rail Station or Exchange Place and board the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail toward HBLR West Side. 

The Jersey Ave Light Rail Station is directly across the street from 50 Regent St.

The Exchange Place LiteRail station is a short walk from the  Exchange Place Path station

Destination will be  "Liberty State Park-Ride Light Rail Station." 

By Bus:  

From Grand St at Bright St., board Bus No 1 toward Newark Ivy Hill. Destination will be Grand St at Bates St.
